New beginnings...

It's been awhile since I been on here as I've sort of migrated over to Facebook. Though I can't write stories and lengthy updates, so I figured I'd come back over to here to do that. The boys started at their new daycare this past Thursday (12/17). It's called the SchoolKids Clubhouse.

We just did not feel that the other daycare was a safe environment for the boys to be in so we moved them. It was mutual on the part of the daycare as well as the owner was refusing to take ownership of the problems. The front door had been left open a couple of times (one by an actual teacher that Philip saw) and then the last straw was when a contractor working on the premises left a battery operated power saw outside with the battery still on and it actually worked as Philip turned it on and sure enough the thing came on! We thought if kids were able to freely walk outside on their own and cut their friggen' fingers off, they no longer needed to be there. Anywhoo, this new daycare is working out great so far...it is very different and seems to be a lot more structured all the way around, and since it goes up to 12 years old, the boys will get driven to school and have the availability for before and after daycare and then summer day camps too when they aren't in school! Jordan has made a new little girlfriend already and they told me that on day 1; oh my gosh, what a ladies man!:-) Justin cries when he gets dropped off because its a new place AND his brother isn't with him at the beginning...they go directly into their own classes when they are dropped off at 0700. Before, they stayed together in one room until it got later and more kids came in like around 0730-0800. He doesn't cry forever and by the time I get there to pick him up in the evenings, he's been playing and hanging out like he used to at the old place. I think it'll just take him a smidge longer to get used to it from drop off.

Philip and I are both now on a 3-week break until school starts back up in January. Of course being so busy, we are not at all done Christmas shopping let alone have we even started wrapping presents. Last year I did it Christmas Eve...I'd like to get it done earlier then that this year. Today I got all of the stocking stuffers, so at least that part is all done. I am actually on vacation now until December 29th:-) Monday I'm going to get a glycolic peel/facial...I've heard it hurts like hell, but this was my Birthday present from Philip and I wasn't in the mood for a massage so I went for this. My neighbor Mary Kay has been getting them done pretty regularly so we'll have to talk and compare notes!

On a side note, Jordan has lost his 3rd tooth already...all 3 were on the bottom; those huge teeth that come in push out his little baby teeth! I don't even see the 3rd tooth popping through yet let alone where there is actually room for it to come in....can you say 'braces'?

Out of the path of being sick...

We seem to be over the sickness that the boys have had starting Friday morning...seems to just have been the 24-hour bug. Thank goodness we've still got 2 days left until we go back to work on Tuesday!

Here's a couple of pictures of the boys on the swings last weekend. The temperature was something like 80 degrees and sunny! This weekend, we are barely 70 degrees and there is NO sun:-(

Last weekend of the summer...what a downer!

We didn't get to go camping this weekend because Justin is sick and is throwing up...Jordan actually got sick this morning and now he's throwing up too!!! OMG, when does it ever end? I'm hoping Philip and I don't come down with it too! Philip actually has had a migraine since yesterday afternoon so he's laying down too with the boys. All 3 of them are in the living room lounging around & napping. I couldn't imagine being confined in such the small space with kids barfing everywhere and it being cold and rainy outside too...I guess it happened for the better since this weekend on the WA coast was going to be very cold and rainy!

I spent my vacation day yesterday cleaning up vomit from Justin since he can't use a bucket like Jordan and did he every just walk and puke everywhere!!! I'll need my carpets cleaned AGAIN! I just had them cleaned a couple of weekends ago. Obviously we've got no big plans for the remainder of the long weekend except to relax and get everyone better.

More random tidbits...

Philip will be home tomorrow before we go to bed; he actually thought he got home later then he actually does, which is good since there are a few things I want to do around the house on Saturday:-) A good nights rest will do Philip good!

On a side note, I've been getting Jordan to bed no later then 8:15p and he's not procrastinated like he usually does...I'm thinking it's because his alone time with Daddy is spent getting ready for bed, so of course he draaaaaaaags it out as long as possible...makes sense! I'll have to see if my theory holds water starting tomorrow night.

I think this weekend is going to be spent getting things done around the house, i.e., cleaning stuff I haven't cleaned it what seems like ages (blinds, our shower...). The weather here is actually supposed to be pretty crappy with rain making its way back sometime this weekend. Today it didn't even reach 70 degrees; it capped out at 69, which is a BIG drop from the very hot weather we had been experiencing up until now.

Justin has started talking a lot more...yesterday he point to a dog and said 'puppy'! He also is having a lot more nightmares which are common his pediatrician said when we were there last month for his 15-month check up. The nightmares seem to have really started this week and I'm wondering if it's because he's dreaming about still tubing down the Wenatchee River:-)

He's on the move....AGAIN!

Philip is traveling again this week to Kentucky and Chicago.he'll be home late Friday night...He got up at 0230 yesterday morning for a flight out at 0610 which ended up getting significantly delayed due to mechanical problems. I got an e-mail message from him around 12:15p with the subject line: Still in Seattle. He was due to leave out instead at 1p or so and arrive in KY at 11p when he was originally due in at 3:30p for an evening appt. over dinner with a vendor and other folks that were down there from Seattle. That was an obvious miss:-) He was upset that he could've slept in longer and I was upset because I could've made yesterday a normal work day for me!!! Mary Kay is picking up the boys for us this week and yesterday when I got home, they were outside watching the neighborhood bunny two houses down for our house (on the other side of MK's house)...Jordan was so excited that he had to show me once I pulled up in the driveway and then of course Justin had to show me too in his finger-pointing/grunting way that he does:-) Today they are going to try to feed the bunny carrots...I'm sure it will be kind of comical:-)

Justin & Jordan just love Mary Kay that you can see it now when she leaves; they both have to give her hugs & kisses and say 'bye'! It's SO cute!!!

Below are a few pictures from the boys' birthday party 4 months ago (April)...I want to make sure I post these before they are another year older! The pictures all go down the left hand side, but my comments are on the right side...you'll just have to read and scroll:-)

Jordan got this big remote control hummer from Nana that he runs outside and he just loves it. As you can see the box was almost bigger then him:-) We had the backyard patio decorated with balloons, streamers, and other things Diego. You would've thought it was Christmas with all of the presents they got, but I guess you can say this only happens once a year!

We had a big jumper at the house (one of those delivered and set up for you) and the funny thing is that the company dropped it off early (something like 11 instead of 1) because they had more to drop off in Seattle and said they'd be back at 4 to pick up and then ended up not picking it up until something like 8p. We paid for 4 hours and had it for like 9!!! So, even the grownups got to get in it and jump around:-) That's me, Justin, Steve and his youngest Emily (well youngest at this time since I waited so long to post, Scotty has since come along in May, so now she's the middle 'kid':0)).

I'm not so sure next year Justin will let Jordan take ownership and lead of the party...I'm almost certain we'll have to have two parties! Jordan was able to blow out both candles on the cake whilst Justin was worried about getting him some frosting:-)

The theme of the party was Diego and obviously I had to go and find a great cake since I wouldn't have any idea what I was doing. Here's a picture of the cake that cost me $20 from Fred Meyer. They did an excellent job and I was able to pick it up just before the party. I'll probably go there again next year, but will have to buy TWO cakes instead of one:-)

Is it safe to say summer is FINALLY here?

Hard to believe the year is just about 1/2 over already and we'll be talking about and seeing Christmas & Halloween decorations soon enough! Time sure flies when you're having fun! Here's to an entire week of low 80's to mid-high 70's and sunshine!!!

The temperature has been wonderful here, in fact, it was 81 degrees today and is due to be 83 degrees tomorrow and Wednesday! These are the days why I'm so glad we had AC installed a couple of years ago:-) Philip hung ceiling fans in both boys' rooms yesterday...they are so cute; we got them at Home Depot. They are called discovery for Kids by Hunter and have rocket ships on the fan blades and like the globe/world for the glass enclosure. Actually, Jordan picked it out all by himself. By time Justin and I had made it around the corner, Philip had said here's the one Jordan wants...below is the link for the picture; obviously very popular since they are out of stock online!

Eventually we'll get a ceiling fan for our room too, but it's a work in process....I mean come on' we are STILL trying to finish our 1/2 bath mini remodel which is now going into year #2! At this rate, we'll be able to hire the boys to finish it for their mom and pop:-) If you go way back to the beginning of when I started blogging (June 08), yup one year ago, you'll see I was updating status on the bathroom; not much change since then! Basically it's the crown moulding that we are having the hard time with and I think we've actually decided to postpone doing it ourselves and once we redo the downstairs; have crown moulding put in throughout the downstairs (to include the bathroom). This won't happen for at least 2 years until Justin gets three, so don't look for any pictures to post to the blog soon on the bathroom:-)

The boys, myself, Mary Kay, and her boxer Coco went to the elementary school park a few blocks away yesterday and Jordan watched her throw the Frisbee in the air and Coco would run and catch it in her mouth. We'd all clap and then so would Justin...It was a gorgeous day to be outside. Actually the school we were at is where Jordan would go to Kindergarten next September; they grow just too fast. Justin and Jordan were on the big gym at school too going down the slides, hanging on the monkey bars, and climbing onto steps. There's nothing big brother Jordan can do that Justin won't at least attempt to try even if he falls down and hurts himself!

Jordan is going to see his first movie on the big screen this coming Saturday afternoon...Mary Kay and Claudia, her 12 year-old granddaughter whom Jordan just loves to pieces, are taking him to see the Pixar movie UP that just opened this past weekend and grossed close to $70M. Jordan couldn't be more excited then if it were Christmas time all over again! The caveat is that he has to be good this week:-) I'll have to let you all know how is first big boy movie experience goes!

Today was Justin's first day in the Sophmore room at daycare; no more bottles, no more formula, no more baby:-( I've got a full blown toddler on my hands now! He sits at the big table now with the rest of the 1-2 year olds and has breakfast, snack, and lunch and now also gets to do crafts and other structured activites. That makes 2 sets of crafts for 18 years; I think we'll need a bigger garage or storage unit since I'll never be able to get rid of anything. I've already got a big banker box full of Jordan's crafts up until now, and he's just 4!

News & updates for the week...

Besides the big news I posted on yesterday about Justin starting to walk on his own, a lot has been going on here since last weekend. We switched Justin out of his infant car seat into a forward facing convertible car seat, and wouldn't you know it, the back seat of my jeep is too small to have Jordan and Justin's car seats next to one another so we had to put Justin on one side and Jordan on the other side; there is absolutely no room for anyone else in the back seat...Philip thinks it might be the excuse I need to get a bigger car (i.e., the minivan like my cousin Sara got (Toyota Sienna) that I just fell in love with) so It can be more then just us in the car at one time. I think NOT; I'm hoping for at least another two years with my car. I mean come on, it only has 159K miles on it and is 10 years old. Maybe when Jordan heads of to Kindergarten next September I'll think about it...

We took the travel trailer out this past Saturday and got it ready (UN-winterized) for our 1st camping trip in 2 weeks. We are very excited to get it out and start using it; we bought it last fall and put it right into storage. I do have to mention that when we go back to park it in the storage lot it always seems a chore to me because I've got to guide Philip backing it up while toting the boys and navigating in a tight space between another travel trailer and a trailer for hauling 'stuff'. There is not much room for error, but anyone that knows Philip, knows that he gets very agitated quickly when something is not working out just right...anyways, I was surprised when we went back to park the trailer and he told me to sit in the truck and do you know he backed it up all by himself without land nav., a compass, or a guide right into the exact spot. I got very excited because now that I know he can do it on his own, it eases the stress on my mind of getting him parked the first time:-)

I also want to take note of the VERY GORGEOUS weather we had this past weekend and through to Monday (4/6)...It was sunny all weekend with high 60's on Saturday, low 70's on Sunday, and 75 degrees on Monday!!! It was awesome, however short lived since today it has rained like no tomorrow and we have the possibility of snow on Monday and Tuesday. Yes, you heard me SNOW...last I knew it was Easter on Sunday! You know I can't go without posting on the weather here about the snow we had, did have, or are going to have...lets hope to goodness that I'm not blogging about the snow we have in June!!!

On a final note, wish us luck (well me & Philip anyways); we are getting family pictures taken Saturday morning and anyone with kids knows trying to get them to sit still is one thing, but getting them to smile on queue is an Act of God. Justin I'm not too worried about since he's only 1 (next year will be a different story) and smiles at everything, but Jordan on the other hand that is a totally different situation. I do however have the bribe ready and in place...after pictures Jordan gets to go to party city and pick out his themed decorations for his Birthday party the following Saturday. I think he's shooting for Diego, but I don't want to get him in that store and then have him wander onto a 100 different things; the bribe could backfire as we end up at Party City for the entire afternoon picking out birthday decorations!!! I can only hope that there is only 1 aisle in the store and that the aisle is only full of Diego merchandise...too much to ask?

1-year stats compare

Well, Justin had his 1-year check up this past Friday and he's doing great. He is significantly way longer then he is heavier, in fact, his weight is being dispersed amongst his ever growing body in length. His pediatrician is amazed on how long he gets each visit we come in. Anyways, here's the compare I said I would do of Justin & Jordan at the 1-year mark.

Jordan - 19 lbs. 6 oz. & 30" long
Justin - 23 lbs. 0 oz. & 31 1/4" long

Obviously Justin is bigger then Jordan, but this is the first visit whereby Jordan was compared to normal 1-year olds even though he was born 11 weeks early. I'm kind of excited to see what the 15-month check up will look like; either Justin will continue to outpace Jordan or maybe they actually get closer in size as time progresses...I'm actually leaning towards the first scenario where Justin just gets bigger then Jordan. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Outside Winter Fun (2009) for the boys!

As was promised awhile back, I've posted some photos below of Jordan actually riding the scooter with all of his gear on. He is just so grown up! These are photos taken in Feb-Mar which is still considered winter on a nice day outside. Justin is all bundled up in the stroller watching Jordan ride his scooter and hanging out with Mommy. There's not too many days like this that happen during the winter time where you can be outside and not get rained on, blown down the street, or froze like a Popsicle...you've got to enjoy the days you do have I've since found out with kids in WA!

Plans are well under way!

Birthday plans are well under way for the boys, yes I said boys since I'm almost confident I can have one birthday party for both boys now without BOTH of them screaming it's their birthday, fighting, and then causing me to go to my grave early:) I figure Jordan will assume it's his birthday party, Justin won't know the difference, and I can kill two birds with one stone:) Philip and I were just discussing if this was something we could do for another 1 or two years, but I'm thinking maybe one and that's just a 'shaky' maybe because if I remember Jordan at 2, he was pretty much a chatter box and everything was already all about him:) I think this will be the only year where I won't have to have two birthday parties in April...three if you count Philip, but he hasn't had his own birthday party in a really long time so he can just piggyback off of the boys and choose one!

I asked Jordan who he wanted to invite and he picked all girls...no boys, though I've got an invitation out to his friend Wyatt whom he went to daycare with since they were 12 weeks old together. Wyatt had to go to a different daycare last year since his older sister started kindergarten and they wanted her to be bused to and fro after school daycare so Wyatt of course had to tag along. I'm hoping they come since Jordan would have a lot of fun! We are just having a BBQ at the house, though Jordan seems to think we are having it at Chuckie Cheese's; I think we are going to have to go and have lunch there one day just so he forgets about it (if that'll ever happen). He'll ask me for the car keys one day and say 'Ma, remember when you didn't have my Birthday party at Chuckie Cheese's and you said you would?' I CAN totally see that happening! Anyways, it is just going to be a few folks and kids.....AND Philip's mom (Nana) is making the trip up here for the birthday weekend too!

Well, I best be hitting the rack since it's about 9p here and I've got a bus to catch in the morning at 0445, yup you bet your sweet a-- that I get up at 0345 every morning! At least starting today, I'm off of school for the next 3 weeks:) Makes more time during the day and weekends to do other stuff...goodnight all!

It's a new day...

It's only been two days since my last post and I think we are all (for the most part) back to normal...It is actually sunny and 60 degrees outside today so I was able to open all of the windows for a few hours today while I worked from home and air the house out! Hopefully we've got no more germs and disease in the house:) I got Justin to the doctor today and he actually got a clean bill of health...no eyes, ears, nose, or throat problems so the doctor said if he's cranky it might just be he's got something viral or even just a headache. I didn't know babies could get headaches; who knew! Right now Jordan and Justin are playing with their big cars and walking or running as in Jordan's case, behind them and running them into walls and stuff. They are laughing...it's a GREAT day!!!

As promised!

Below are a few new pictures of the boys! Justin is playing & showing some teeth whilst trying very hard to open doors to the TV cabinet & Jordan's brand new haircut that looks a lot like Daddy's haircut....short up the sides and back w/curls 'for the girls' on top:) There's also a picture of Jordan in his safety scooter gear; the scooter was in the garage, he came in for lunch and geared back up to go outside when I got the picture...I'll have to get another one of him actually using the scooter next:)

The boys are getting too big!

It was sunny most of this weekend and in fact we reached 62 degrees yesterday...(YEAH)!!! Philip put Jordan's spiderman scooter together that he go for Christmas since it was warm enough and nice enough to be outside. I got a few pictures of Jordan in all of his gear, knee & elbow pads, and a helmet...he looks like a skateboarder; very cool! I'll have to post them up tonight hopefully! Jordan also got his haircut yesterday and it is even shorter then it has ever been. I think Philip is trying to mimic his haircut on Jordan, but anyways Jordan had been complaining for the last 3 weeks that his hair was getting long and he needed a haircut; he got his wish yesterday as it is very short with clippers used to fade it up in the back and the sides.

Justin looks to need tubes in his ears since he basically has had continuous ear infections since this past October. When we go back two weeks from Saturday if he's still has them we are going back over to Dr. Rone, the ENT specialist who put Jordan's tubes in. I thought because Jordan was born early that he had the ear problems and that Justin wouldn't, but I guess not! We went to Nordstrom's yesterday and I had Justin's feet fitted for some pediped's since he's not yet walking on his own outside, but anyways his feet were sized at 5 1/2 which means a size 6 shoe. Our neighbor's 2-year old daughter is wearing size 6 now; of course girls feet are smaller, but I mean common'...the lady says normally the size she fits is a 4 at Justin's age! As was mentioned way earlier in my blog, I think Justin is going to get significantly bigger then Jordan and one day I'll be blogging that Justin is now pummeling Jordan and taking toys from him:) I tell Jordan about Karma but I don't think he quite gets it yet...I'm sure he will!!!:)

We've got our first camping trip planned for a long weekend up in Burlington, WA over the last weekend in April...I'm getting excited! It'll be fun to get out and do stuff and not have to only plan big trips where we fly somewhere...I'm sure the boys will be loving it too! We'll definitely have lots of pictures to share!

It's getting harder

Boy is it getting harder to stay on task writing in the blog weekly while still getting in family time, work, school, and every other doggone thing!

Anyways, we had a Happy Valentine...Philip & I went out to dinner (YES, by ourselves) and were gone a total of 3 hours, with almost two of that at the restaurant. We talked nothing about the boys and I actually had a drink; a very large watermelon flavored long island iced tea! September would be exactly 9 years since I had any alcoholic beverage. Some of you may remember the couple of days before the wedding fiasco whereby I was knocked out for the count, literally, and had this happened the night before the wedding I never would've made it:) That drink tasted great! The Ram Steakhouse and Brewery has about 7 or 8 other flavors of this long island iced tea drink that I told Philip we'd have to go back so I could try out every single one. Mary Kay watched the boys for us on Saturday so we could go & Philip got her a Wii Fit as a Thank You....well actually a thank you for the many other times she's picked up the boys on call if my bus was running late, plus all of the other times while Philip was traveling which in fact he is doing right now as I write this. He's in TX for a 2-day trip. I said in the past 30 days (1/19 - 2/19), he would've been in 5 different states (DC, KY, WI, TX, & WA to Spokane); I sure hope he's racking up those frequent flier miles for me and the kids!

Philip got me a Wii Fit for Valentine's day (is he trying to tell me something?) & it was my surprise to take him out to dinner, though he actually ruined it because he wanted to know what I wanted for dinner...you don't mess with a Jamison & his food; of course the apple didn't at all fall from the tree on either occasion because both Jordan & Justin have melt downs when they want food...Justin will haul off screaming just because someone is eating and he is not. It's total chaos when all 3 are hungry at the same time:)

Justin is just now 10 1/2 months old and growing like a friggen' weed! I swear one day he'll be bigger then Jordan! Last week Jordan drew his first picture in school where it actually looked like something which I knew what it was and he was able to tell me what it was. He drew a boy flying a kite. I've got to see if I can scan it and save to my computer to upload so everyone can see! I was SO EXCITED!!! It's hard to believe he's gonna be 4 years old in 2 months!

Family updates

This weekend went by SO fast...I really don't know why; maybe it's just because we did a lot of furniture moving/room re-arranging. We got rid of the workout room up in the loft and created a playroom (Wii included) for the boys! I definitely think the space is already getting more usage then it was before:) Plus whenever I do have a chance to run on the treadmill or lift weights, it's after the boys have gone to bed...I can't necessarily run on a treadmill quietly now can I? Anyways, we moved it out to the garage, and since we had gotten rid of the pups, we've got the 3rd car of the garage which we are going to use/set up a workout area. I can then use it after the boys have gone to bed; well we'll see how that goes too:)

Justin turned 10 months old last week Monday. I can't believe he's almost 1 already; time is sure flying by. I had to take him to the doctor on Saturday since he was sick and it ended up being ANOTHER ear infection...I think that makes 4 in the last 2 months or so! He had none before that; I just wish it were spring time already, since winter time can be so draining on the boys being sick. He is working on tooth #9 and eating like he's going to outgrow Jordan...He basically eats everything we eat and I swear at each mealtime he's eating more then Jordan! Jordan is so thin and such a picky/finicky eater that when I think Jordan eats a lot, it really is him just eating a little more then usual. Justin is not yet walking on his own yet, but I do catch him every once in a while letting go from item to item while standing without taking a step...I think walking is just around the corner for him!

Jordan is SO ADDICTED to the Wii that I have to basically set an alarm to go off so that he knows his time is up and he can't get back on it until the end of the day. During the week is easier since he's only allowed on it after he gets home from daycare, but during the weekend here he wanted the remote basically glued to his hand:) He had strep throat a week and 1/2 ago and is now battling a very bad cold...WHERE IS THE SUMMER? Jordan has requested that his birthday party be at chuckie cheeses...where he got that idea from I don't know, but he sure knows that they have games and stuff there. I'll have to let you know where we end up for it, though we've got 2 1/2 months to go yet until he turns 4!!!

Philip and I have been doing great...just keeping busy with work, school, and traveling on business. I've got to get some pictures of the inauguration posted out here, but I've got to wait for Philip to download/upload the photos...I'll work on him for next week. He said it was so friggen' cold there in DC those few days that his fingers and toes felt like they were going to fall off; it didn't help that he was outside for over 12 hours! He brought back a whole bunch of souvenir's that we passed on to a few of our friends and family members....

Happy New Year & family update!!!

Well, it's actually 4 days into the New Year...things here are going great! Justin turned 9 months old this past Friday and actually started walking on 1/1 behind his little car that he can push. I video taped it, but now I'm having issues trying to get it to upload to the computer; either something is broken or the computer is too full! I've never had the problem before, so once I get it figured out, I'll post a short video clip of little Justin walking.

Jordan has been day potty trained now for a couple of weeks...YEAH!!! He actually goes #1 and #2 in the potty on his own; would've thought we'd ever get to this point. I'm not sure when we'll try the night time without wearing a pull-up, but if that's all I've got to worry about, then we can live with that for awhile:)

The boys have started playing more together so much that Jordan actually now gets agitated when Justin tries to play with 'his' toys. They have been caught rolling around and playing on the ground with each other! It is SO cute!

I'm on school break for 1 more week:) You'd think I'd be getting a lot of 'stuff' done, when actually I've really gotten nothing done! In fact, I just sent out Xmas presents and cards the week after Christmas...I think it's because of all of the snow we had that we were housebound and not venturing out that often; this isn't MI you know! Plus too I've forgotten how to drive in all of that snow!

Philip is doing well and has got business travel plans set up for the week of the 19th. That will be a hectic week me by myself, but I've got a great friend a neighbor in Mary Kay who will be picking up the boys for me from daycare so I can get into the office everyday! The last three weeks with holiday's, vacation days, and snow days; I think I've only been in the office 4 days! Next week will feel like one REALLY long week since it is back to 5 days!

On a side note, we just put our first load of meat in our new freezer. We went to the Butcher Boys Meat market here in Puyallup for 60 lbs. of fresh meat...all variety; no more buying meat from the grocery stores. I'll have to get back to everyone one how it tastes since we are having our first couple of steaks tonight for dinner.
